Our main objective at Retail Meat New Zealand is to support excellence in our industry by providing support for our members through communication, leadership and expertise. We aim to meet this objective by helping our members gain the most out of their businesses by providing opportunities to excel in their craft and maximise exposure to both industry and consumers with the events that we run. We keep our members on top of media issues and consumer trends by providing regular and timely industry and media updates and we encourage them to continue pushing the boundaries as a forward-thinking industry in this fast paced and transient environment.

Representation

We work on behalf of our members to affect change in the areas that matter to them and the retail meat sector. We are passionate about connecting the retail meat community and if needed, being the collective voice with consumers and media. The RMNZ Board of Directors is made up of representatives from independent butchers, supermarkets, training providers, and our protein partners, giving us insights into the whole Retail Meat Sector allowing us to make informed decisions where needed.


Events and Activities

We run and organise a number of both small and high profile events on behalf of the industry. Some of these events are member-only but most of them are open to all in the industry, with members receiving discounted tickets or registration packages. These events include competitions, award dinners, networking and social events, the annual RMNZ conference and access to international butchery related competitions and tours.

Membership Fee Structure

Members are defined as those businesses involved with the selling of meat/meat products, either directly or indirectly. This includes retail butchers, supermarkets, small-goods manufacturers, wholesalers, brokers etc.

Affiliated members are defined as those businesses that provide support services or products such as ingredients, equipment, packaging etc, and industry bodies.

The fees as outlined below are based on a 12 month period. All costs exclude GST

  • Members with one store $412.13 excl GST (annual flat fee)

  • Members with additional stores $624.43 excl GST (annual flat fee)

  • Affiliated members $624.43 excl GST (annual flat fee)
